APF is the largest pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Ethiopia located in Adigrat (Tigray) which uses state-of-the-art technology and equipment. APF produces safe, effective and quality drugs and has an annual production capacity of 1.2 billion tablets, 19 billion ampoules, 10 million vials, 500,000 capsules, 4million ointment tubes and 9.6 million bottles of syrup. It was established in 1992 with an initial investment of birr 200,000,000.  Addis Pharmaceutical Factory (APF) PLC is the largest pharmaceutical manufacturing company headquartered at Adigrat, Tigray regional State of Ethiopia,  898 km away from Addis. The town is 2300 meters above sea level.  The plant was constructed and equipped with high tech production facilities. The company has been manufacturing more than 91 high quality pharmaceutical products of different therapeutic categories including Antibiotics, Gastro-intestinal drugs, Central Nervous system drugs, Cardiovascular drugs, anti diabetic agents, Antihistamines & Anti allergic, Antihelminthics, analgesics, Antiprotozoals,Respiratory drugs, dermatologicalsand Minerals & Vitamins and Large volume Parenterals; in various dosage forms. The company has more than nine production lines and fully equipped laboratories as well as utilities capable of producing tablets, capsules, syrups/suspensions, dry powders for reconstitution, injectable vials, liquid injectable ampoules, creams and ointments which can generally be categorized as Non-Lactam products (Tablets, Capsules (General), Syrups/Suspensions, Ampoules (Sterile), Topical Ointments, Creams and Gels) and Lactam products (Vials (Sterile), Capsules and dry powders for reconstitution).  The Lactam products are manufactured in dedicated lines, whereas other non-Lactam products are manufactured on a campaign basis in other manufacturing lines. In 2009, the company acquired a second plant located at Akaki/ Kality sub city, Addis Ababa which is dedicated for the manufacturing of large volume Parenterals. The company’s manufacturing processes are designed, directed, regularly monitored and controlled in line with cGMP recommendations, the company’s Quality Manual and directions of local Regulatory Authority.  The company has managed to get a GMP certification from the local regulatory authority; Food, medicines and healthcare administration and control authority of Ethiopia, through a Certificate of Competence for Drug Manufacturing Plant. Currently, APF is engaged in manufacturing of analgesics, antacids, antibiotics, antimalarias, antiasthmatics, amoebicides, anthelmenics, cough syrups and vitamin preparations.    

Located in Mekelle, Northern Ethiopia, Messebo Cement Factory produces cement of highest quality confirming to European and US standards. The production process of Messebo Cement Factory consists of the latest pre-Kalciner technology. The machinery & equipment has been supplied and created by M/S F. L. Smidth (Denmark), the most renowned manufacturer of cement plants in the world and commissioned in 2001. Sheba Tannery is a private tanning factory legally established entity as subsidiary of the holding corporate house of Effort. The factory is one of the leading tanners existing in  Ethiopia in its product mix, capacity, organizational setup and machinery. The factory uses all kinds of modern information exchange and communication facilities.It includes technologically advanced tannery processes for the production of finished glove leathers, finished clothing leathers, finished shoe uppers and finished shoe lining leathers, and the environmental treatment and safe disposal of wastes, critical quality parameter automations and know-how transfer programs.The factory is located in Northern Ethiopia, at Wukro, Tigrai Region, about 42km North of Mekele (the capital of Tigrai region) a place where known for best origin of hides & skins. The location is within a reasonable distance from all East African ports to use alternatively.Business Objective:Produce/process pickle and Web blue sheepskin, wet blue goatskin and wet blue hide 100% for export. The raw material supply of the factory is from the best origin highlands of Ethiopia. The quality of the raw skins & hides is known for its fine, good grain and corium combination. Moreover, the physical strength is suitable for gloving leather. The raw goatskin of Sheba tannery is a well-known brand 'bati genuine' with tighter grain and fine suede Napa.
