Natural Valley Limited the producers of Manzivalley brand of natural mineral water was incorporated in November 2000 but the production of Manzivalley brand started in 1988 and was bottled by Ngwerere farming Enterprises. Currently the production is based at the Waterfalls area of Chongwe district. This where the headquarters and the production plant for Natural Valley are based.At the time, the concept of mineral water was still very new in Zambia and indeed in most of sub Saharan countries. As a result, they were the pioneers in this market. Today they are over 50 producers of mineral water in Zambia.Since then Natural Valley Limited has grown into the biggest producer of mineral water in Zambia under the guidance of Stewart Simpson the Managing Director and proprietor of the company. The company has got a market share of 60% despite the many players in the market.Currently the company covers the entire Zambian market and Manzivalley can be found everywhere.Since it’s inception Natural Valley has always put quality at the forefront and today it’s the only mineral water company that is certified by Zambia Bureau of Standards and has achieved ZS388. This concept has led to the company being awarded several quality awards.In 2004 Natural Valley was awarded the second runner up during the Africa SMME awards in the category of Agriculture, Food and Beverage production held in South Africa. The TCWS was set up in 1989 with a strong emphasis on capacity building and promotion of low cost technologies for rural water supplies and sanitation as part of the International Training Network (ITN) for Water and Waste Management. The IWSD was born out of the Training Centre for Water and Sanitation (TCWS) a project of the UNDP-World Bank Programme hosted at the University of Zimbabwe. Other sister organisations were also set up as regional hubs in Ghana (TREND), Kenya (NETWAS), Burkina Faso (CREPA). The success of the project and the demand for services led to the formation of Institute of Water and Sanitation Development whose focus is not only on water and sanitation but also on water resources management in the both the rural and urban context.
